Hi Lovely Supporters,
Due to illegal poaching, human conflict and troophy hunting the Big 5 have had to come under protection. SANPARCs is the National Park team in South Africa that manage Kruger national park to ensure the African bush is protected but even with their work poachers and hunting still occurs.
The Big 5 are a really big deal and millions of tourists flood to Africa to try and spot them in their environment, the 5 refers to our African Lion, Leopards, Rhinos, African Elephants and the Cape Buffalo. Although these animals may be very dengerous most of them are classed as at risk by rhe International Union for Conservation Nature.
Daily these animals see hunters, poachers and the loss of habitat a regular challenge. Therefore it is projects like this one that is playing a key role in the protection of these amazing animals.
Using your donations over the past few months we have funded community engagement projects with people that are likely to be recruited for poaching to enage them in the wildlife on their doorstep, we have funded the K9 dog food for 10 dogs that do daily patrols around the reserves and we have worked with SANPARCs to help improve security around our reserves that included fixing fences to help keep them protected.
We thank you for your support and also take this opportunity to tell you about the GlobalGiving Little X Little Campaign that is a week long starting on 8th April and all donations up to the value of $50 will be matched, therefore this is a great week for our supporters to help us once more and we can raise even more funds for our amazing project, please save the date and help if you can.
Thanks,
Tyrone
