Saving 500 children from malnutrition

Introduction

Dear Friends,

With great joy and satisfaction, we inform you that the Club's dining room has been a resounding success, we began operations on June 17, that day we served 160 members, as the days go by we are serving an average of 180, for the summer we close with 250 registered, which will be the same that we will serve from the next cycle. As of today we have a waiting list.

Project Overview

Objectives

1. Provide Nutritious Meals: Ensure that children have access to healthy and balanced meals.
2. Promote Social Interaction: Create a welcoming space for children to interact and build friendships.
3. Enhance Overall Well-being: Support the physical and emotional health of children through proper nutrition.

Achievements

• Meals Served: Since the opening, the dining hall has served 180 meals to 180 children per day.
• Nutritional Improvements: 79.7% feel that the Club's food gives them the energy to carry out their activities.
• Community Engagement: 99.3% like coming to the dining room because they eat better, the food is tasty and because they learn values, make friends and live with companions they didn't know before.

Stories of Impact

In recent days we applied a survey to identify the impact we are having on the beneficiaries, and the results are as follows:

• 79.7% feel that the Club's food gives them the energy to carry out their activities.
• 95.4% have more time to eat quietly since starting to eat at the Club.
• 99.3% like coming to the dining room because they eat better, the food is tasty and because they learn values, make friends and live with companions they didn't know before.

Future Plans

• Sustainability: We plan to introduce a small vegetable garden maintained by the children, promoting sustainability and teaching them about healthy eating.
• Expansion: Considering the positive impact, we aim to expand the dining hall to accommodate more children and enhance the kitchen facilities.

Conclusion

The opening of the dining hall at the Boys and Girls Club marks a significant milestone in our mission to support the holistic development of children. We are excited to continue this journey and look forward to further enhancing the lives of the children we serve.
