Dear friends,
Is it just us or has time really flown by in 2023? It seems like yesterday when we shared our last report with you and here we are again with our third 2023 update! Hope you are thriving wherever you are and will find the new developments as exciting as we do!
New Annual report!
Our 2022 annual report is a testament to the impact you are making with OBAT. We are truly fortunate to have your support which allows us to create a sustainable impact in communities which deserve it the most. Please peruse the report to find out how important actions and steps we took such as investments in training and development and focus on education programs, bolstered capacity and yielded results that broke the poverty cycle for so many. Thank you for creating a deep and indelible footprint with OBAT. Read annual report here.
Rohingya Refugees Empowered Through Livestock Rearing
Training is provided to Rohingya refugees by OBAT in tailoring, homestead gardening and livestock rearing in order to empower them toward financial independence. These skills are particularly valuable in the remote island of Bhasan Char where over 20,000 Rohingya refugees have been settled. Two thousand chickens were recently distributed to 25 families settled in Bhasan Char to enable them to start their own businesses.
Children from Rohingya Community Undergo Health Screening
OBAT's partner, Human Concern International, supports the child sponsorship program for Rohingya children. As a part of this program, children in OBAT's Learning Centers receive an education and academic and health support in the form of books and health checkups. A new round of health screenings took place for 75 students. We are grateful to HCI for their invaluable partnership which helps us ensure the health of our students.
