Raju, a 2-year-old boy, youngest of 6 siblings, is enrolled at Mahula day care centre of Kotda in southern Rajasthan. His father is a daily wage worker and mother looks after housework. During one of the screenings conducted by Seva Mandir, he was identified of severely acute malnutrition (SAM). Raju’s mother was counselled and immediately asked to come along with him to Seva Mandir’s community management of acute malnutrition camp for Raju’s treatment. It was found that along with severe malnourishment, Raju had severe skin infection over his body.
Through the CMAM Camps, Raju was provided required medicines and ready to use therapeutic food and his mother was counseled about medication, care at home, feeding, diet and hygiene. With team of trained staff and nurses and with the support of community members, Raju received the right treatment at a crucial time. As a result of all the efforts, Raju’s condition gradually improved and he his infection cleared. His health was revived, and he eventually moved out of SAM.
A contribution as small as $10 from you can support the treatment for 1 malnourished child and make his caregiver aware of child care and nutrition. We do hope that you will once again extend your generous support towards less privileged children living in this part of the world.
Best Wishes,
