Expanding the Proposed Biosphere Reserve Area

By Richard Margoluis | Vice-President

In the Savegre Watershed, we continue to put together our proposal to UNESCO to establish a biosphere reserve.  We are in the process of facilitating four more workshops with communities and stakeholders in the newly proposed area that connects the watershed to Manuel Antonio Nation Park. After so much work on this project, we are hoping 2016 is the year that the proposal gets approved.

One very exciting piece of news we’d like to share with you!  A tapir was spotted (and photographed) where the Path of the Tapir Biological Corridor and the Savegre Watershed intersect.  Check it out (photos attached). Yea!!!
