This project was envisaged to assist PLHIV who could not afford treatment with ARV's. During the last three months we have enrolled 22 women who have received screening for their CD 4 counts. These investigations have been carried out free of cost at the HAART clinic's lab. 16 of them returned counts lesser than 250. In general all those with counts lesser than 250 have to be initiated on treatment.
With the help of our social work team 12 women were assisted with enrollment in the government free ART program and are now in a waiting list for ART initiation. Of the remaining 4 the Foundation's HAART clinic has initiated treatment for 2 women and the social work team is looking for community sponsors who can support the treatment for the other 2.
The remaining 6 women who returned counts greater than 250 have been counseled and listed in our Out Reach Worker (ORW) list for periodic follow up.
We are not able to upload pictures of the beneficiaries at this point of time due to confidentiality and their discomfort at visual disclosure.
