The griffon vulture hatching season has now come to an end and we are pleased to be able to update you with the numbers from this year from the National Center for Raptor Egg Incubation
19 eggs arrived at the Center, 15 of which were fertile.
13 eggs were successfully hatched!
Ten of the chicks went to adoptive parents and the other three remained at the Center to be hand-fed (without actual human interaction so as not to imprint them in a manner that they cannot be returned to the wild.)
So another satisfying result and 13 new vultures in the world.
Next season we will receive the eggs at the newly built facility which will be opening officially soon.
