2023 Burmese Refugee Support
By colin flahive | Director at China California Heart Watch
At the center of the conflict in Myanmar between the miliary junta and it's opponents are millions of children who find themselves in dire need or help. One UNICEF assessment estimates that there are 5.6 million children in need of humanitarian assistance. The silver lining of this grim situation is that by the efforts of organizations like the Burma Children Medical Fund and donors like you, financial support can go directly to families that need it most. All of your contributions will go to the treatment children who cannot support the life-saving medical treatment that they need.
By committing to a monthly donation of ten dollars or more, you can have a direct impact on a child’s life and give her or him a chance for a better future.

2023 Burmese Refugee Support
By colin flahive | Director at China California Heart Watch
We are pleased to announce this year's funds raised for underprivileged children in Burma will again be made to the Burma Children Medical Fund. Thanks to your generous contributions, we will be making a transfer of $13,000 to this fund.
Kanchana Thornton and her team founded the Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF) in Thailand in 2004 to treat some medical conditions of underprivileged children along the Burma border area.
BCMF was granted permission from the Thai government to help children coming across the border and needing complex medical care. In addition, she works with local Thai children whose families cannot afford treatment.
BCMF later branched out to offer assistance to adults as well. Since the coup in Myanmar, cases have only increased.
With your continued contributions, we can help save lives.

From the jungles of conflict-torn Myanmar...
By colin flahive | Director at China California Heart Watch
We are very fortunate to work with Dr. Kanchana and the Burma Childrens Fund to support Burmese refugee children with heart disease. Dr. Kanchana has been on the ground in Thailand working with patients and finding those who need our healp most. Our connecrtion with her has been to support those children with congenital heart disease who are feeling Myanmar to Thailand. These families do not have the financial ability to pay for the life-saving surgeries that these children require to live a normal life. Dr. Kanchana has recently had some media attention that you can read about here...
