Thank you for giving! Because of you, Konka has a scholarship to attend school for an entire year! And in Bangladesh that doesn’t just mean she is becoming educated … It also means she is safe from becoming a child bride.
You see, Konka’s parents love her very much, but they cannot afford to send her to school. They are so poor it may be hard to feed their family. And when that happens, mothers and fathers are forced to look at ways they can provide for their daughter. Though Konka is only 12, marrying her to an older man as his bride is a heartbreaking, but viable, option.
Konka doesn’t want to get married! She wants to stay in school and live at home with her parents.
Girls who stay in school are six times less likely to be married off before their 18th birthday.
Thanks to you, Konka is still in school. She has a scholarship for the entire year!
Your gift of education will break the cycle of poverty for a girl like Konka. An education gives her a bright future, and will change her family’s future, too.
Thank you so much for giving!
