Getting it better!

By Ebele I. Chukwuka | Project Leader

GOOD EXPERIENCE

The introduction of reusable pads seems to be the greatest invention so far in the health of women and menstruation. C4HDI is working round the clock to provide adequate pads for the women who are our beneficiaries. Although a very minimal number of women still prefer the old types of types of disposable pads, majority who indicated interest for the reusable pads outnumbered them. From our analysis, older women who are about 10% of our beneficiaries prefer the disposal pads. When we interviewed them, most of said that they are used to the comfort which it gives them. We noted this and keyed it into our digital system. The 90% who are younger women prefer the reusable pads and we also asked them why. They responded that it affords them the stress of demanding for pad monthly. It was also keyed into our digital system.
We experienced about 3 discharged inmates in the month and scheduled home visits to them.

Talk of the Town

It's amazing to us at C4HDI how our local community had been spreading the story of offering our clients with the best in town disposable pads while some of the rest of the women in town don't have it. C4HDI and stakeholders are excited that our works are yielding results because the discharged inmates still visits our offices, declaring their gratitude and willingness to join our cause and projects. At the moment, we are considering employing them all together in some of our other projects. It wouldn't be a bad idea, we're thinking.

OUR USUAL INSPECTION.

On our normal visit and inspection of the female inmates, our female staff did most of the personal inspection while we carried out the environmental inspection. For the average usage of the disinfectants, we discovered that because of the dey season, there is no much need to sanitize the gutters though which the used water for bathing peters away to the pit. The question of body lice has reduced due to the use of a powerful insecticide we provided the inmates and also, through improved sanitation as a result of lectures we give them. We need to provide more detergent to complete the questions of cloth sanitation this is as a result of interview we conducted.

HIGH COMPLIANCE

We noted the high compliance to all our instructions on how to use the items we provided our beneficiaries. For each item, we taught them in the best way to use each for better results and preservation. We noted that some of the remaining items we met during the inspection was by our analysis, very economical.

On this note, we planned to return to our offices with a promise of getting them the required items necessary for the health of the women. We delivered the messages of our donors and stakeholders.
On their part, they thanked our donors and stakeholders for remembering and taking the project of taking care of them.
Thanks.
