Living and learning for one whole year in TLF certainly is a life changing experience for Yesthy. She was the eldest daughter in the family which made it very hard for her mother to let her leave. Her mother trusted Plan Indonesia, the organisation that recommended Yesthy to TLF, and finally let her attend TLF to help her have a brighter future.
Yesthy says her time at TLF has changed her forever. She feels empowered, has gained immense knowledge, not only on farming but also life values that are the embodiment of TLF. She has met many people from different cultures and languages, enriching and widening her horizons.
Her mother was so proud and thankful that she expressed it the best way she knows, weaving her own gratitude and prayer into a scarf, a beautiful tais. These were presented to TLF staff as token of love and thanks from a mother’s heart.
