This past quarter, the Better Life Program for the African Rural Woman and our partners focused on tackling the critical need for clean water and sanitation. We successfully installed a solar-powered borehole which is now providing accessible, safe water not only for the boys but for the wider community. Additionally, essential WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities have been constructed, marking a crucial step towards better health and dignity. Recognizing the urgent need, the Better Life Program for the African Rural Woman, alongside our partners, prioritized improving access to fundamental resources. We are delighted to share that: 1. A new solar-powered borehole has been successfully installed! This provides a sustainable source of clean, safe water, dramatically improving daily life and health prospects for the boys and the entire community now utilizing it. 2. Essential WASH facilities (including latrines and handwashing stations) were constructed and are now available, promoting better hygiene practices and reducing disease transmission. These interventions directly address the health issues, like skin lesions, stemming from the contaminated river water. While the challenge of providing sustainable shelter remains, securing clean water and sanitation is a monumental step forward.
