Save 1 Million Lives – Project Progress Report

Dear GlobalGiving donors and supporters,

We are pleased to share a new update on DTI Foundation’s Save 1 Million Lives project.

The objective of this initiative remains clear: to strengthen organ donation and transplantation systems by providing healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills and practical experience they need to develop sustainable programs in their own countries.

During the past months, DTI Foundation has continued working with healthcare professionals, hospitals and national institutions from different regions of the world, particularly in countries where access to transplantation remains limited.

Our work has focused on three main areas:

  • Training healthcare professionals through specialized educational programs in organ donation and transplantation.

  • Providing international clinical exposure and knowledge transfer, including training activities, professional exchanges and clinical observerships.

  • Supporting hospitals and health authorities in the development and strengthening of local donation and transplantation programs.

The impact of this model goes beyond each individual professional trained. Participants return to their hospitals with new clinical and organizational knowledge that can be shared with colleagues, incorporated into local protocols and ultimately contribute to increasing access to transplantation.

DTI Foundation continues to work internationally to identify healthcare professionals and institutions where this support can generate sustainable, long-term impact. Each initiative is adapted to the local healthcare context and combines education, international expertise and collaboration with local teams.

This approach reflects the central philosophy of Save 1 Million Lives: investing in healthcare professionals creates a multiplying effect. By training one doctor, nurse or transplant coordinator, we can help strengthen an entire medical team and improve the opportunities for many patients who are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

The continued support received through GlobalGiving allows us to maintain and expand these activities, reach professionals in countries with limited resources and continue transferring expertise in organ donation and transplantation.

Thank you for being part of this mission and for helping us build stronger and more sustainable donation and transplantation systems around the world.

With gratitude,

DTI Foundation
