Most of the parents wish their children to have a better tomorrow and a brighter future than they ever had, no matter how poor and impoverished they may be. The same was true for Palankaiah and his wife.A native of village Kundampally, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Palankaiah is dependent on agricultural wages to earn daily bread for his family. He and his family with their 3 year old son Seshaiah live on a meagre income. Amidst of living in such dire conditions, Palankaiah and his wife have raised their only child with utmost care and lot of affection.
Seshaiah is an exceptionally energetic child with full of life. He keeps everyone engaged at home with his adorable activities. Watching their child grow and move forward, learning to sit, to crawl, and to take the first tottering step — is a joyful process for any parent.
Unfortunately, shortly before his 3rd birthday a routine day at home turned into a nightmare for the entire family. Little Seshaiah was accidentally hit in his left eye by a sharp stick, while playing with his friends. Seshaiah suffered a severe injury in his left eye and he was immediately taken to the Govt.Dispensary close-by. Following the advice of the Govt. Medical officer, he was referred to Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur.
At Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur, he was diagnosed with corneal tear in his left eye and he was advised an emergency surgery. Seasahiah’s parents got jolted after hearing about the surgery as neither they could afford the expenses nor see their child losing his vision. Later, they were relieved by the kind words of counselor who informed them about the surgery at no cost. Immediately arrangements were made to perform a surgery by Sankara team. Seshaiah was operated by the experienced team of Doctors and after post-operative care for couple of days, he was discharged and since regained his full vision.
Today, he has been put into the pre-school, close to his house. His parent are very happy to see their child playing again with same liveliness. Little Seshaiah has long years of bright and promising future.
“Seshaiah –a life transformed due to dedicated efforts & prompt response of team Sankara”.
