Sankara Eye Hospital, Bangalore helps Mrs. Sudha
Sudha, aged 35 years, is mother of 3 children and was leading a happy life until she started experiencing problem with her vision 3 years ago. Completely involved in her household chores, she ignored her problem with vision.
Sudha’s vision was deteriorated to the level that she could only identify the hand movements less than half a meter.
During that time, there was an announcement regarding a “Free Eye Camp” being organised by Sankara Eye Hospital, Bangalore near her village, and she decided to attend the same. She attended the camp and after the doctor’s check-up, she was diagnosed to have Cataract and was advised for surgery.
Sudha was taken aback at the thought of meeting her surgery expenses as her husband is the only earning member in her family. Sudha’s husband was a daily wager earning less than Rs. 3000. Sankara team counselled that the surgery would be performed free of charges and that they had to only make a decision to come along with the team to the hospital.
Sudha was relieved and underwent Cataract Vision Restoration Surgery successfully.
“I never thought the service would be provided at my doorstep. I am happy that my vision is restored. This has increased my confidence and would enable me to be an active member of the family again. Thanks a lot Sankara!” says Sudha with joy.
