Implementation of sanitation facilities for rural schools in southern Uganda has led to noted improvement in school enrollment and students performance in National examinations of 2018 for schools benefiting from this project. According to Sr. Nakayiza Rose, the Deputy Head teacher of Kaliiro Primary school. "Installing sanitation facilities and water purifiers have helped to improve attendance, and hygienic practices among all pupils, much has been noted in improving the students academic performance in the national examinations, our school was among the best performing schools in the district. We got 7 students in grade one, and 29 students in grade, we attribute this achievement to availability of safe water and sanitary facilities for the girls whose attendance and retention rates have been increased. They no longer feel pressured to be absent during their menstrual cycle" Rose Said. One more water purifying system has been installed for Kyabuuza primary school in Lyantonde. This brings us to a total of two primary schools that have been supported with water purifying students. We are grateful for our partnership with Global Giving that has seen us reaching our to such vulnerable children in a rural setting.
