This year, we have continued to expand opportunities for girls and young women to learn, build skills, earn income, and pursue their futures with greater confidence and independence.
Our girls’ programs are currently reaching hundreds of participants across several initiatives. Underground TechSheroes is serving 120 young women, providing opportunities to develop valuable technology and digital skills. Through Threads of Hope, 100 women are participating in programming designed to strengthen their skills and create pathways toward greater economic opportunity.
Secret Scholars Online also continues to grow. We currently have 180 active students participating in the program, giving girls access to education and learning opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
The demand for this program has been especially striking. We recently received 800 new applications for Secret Scholars Online, all of which are now being carefully reviewed and vetted. This overwhelming response is both encouraging and sobering: it demonstrates how strongly girls and young women want to continue their education, while also highlighting the enormous unmet need that remains.
Across these programs, we are currently supporting 400 active participants. As we look ahead, our priority is not only to sustain these opportunities, but to thoughtfully expand our capacity so that more of the young women asking for a chance to learn and build a better future can participate.
There is also an important opportunity to make your support go twice as far. Thanks to Safer World matching, donations to this program are currently being matched 100%, up to $1,000 per donation, while matching funds remain available. That means a $100 gift can become $200, and a $1,000 gift can become $2,000 in support for girls and young women.
We are deeply grateful to the GlobalGiving community for helping make this work possible. Your support allows us to continue creating practical, meaningful pathways for girls and young women—and right now, that support can have twice the impact.
