Dear Donors,
Your favorite home 'Poonjolai' (The garden of flowers) is giving shelter to one more girl child now.
In December, the principal of the school where our children study, recommended to admit a girl in our home. She has no father. She is studying in 11th standard. Her story in the words of her mother: "Mam, Rekha's (name changed) father died six years back. My sister told me that she will take care of Rekha and brought her here this year. I trusted my sister and sent my daughter with her. I stay with my father in law who is very old and sick. I go to coolie work.
When I come to see Rekha, I can see that she is not the same as before and she was hiding something to me. When I visited her this time, I can see that she is much upset and unhappy. I inquired her and to my shock, came to know that my sister is illtreating her. Rekha was asked to cook and do the household chores. She was not given time to study. And to my dismay she was not fed properly. I decided to take her away from my sister's home.
Rekha is a good student. So when I approached the school principal, she wanted Rekha to continue her studies. She called you and now we are here."
After hearing the poor girl's story New Life decided to give shelter to Rekha in our Poonjolai home. And now Rekha is happy, studying, playing and eating well. She is studying well now without any hindrances.
