Sriram is a thirteen year old boy studying 8th standard. He was admitted in the home Poonjolai this year with his brother.
Sriram's father Kalaivanan desserted his wife Dhanalakshmi and the family before 4 years. He married another woman.Since their marriage is a love marriage neither the in-laws nor the parents supported Dhanalakshmi after Kalaivanan desserted his family.
Sriram's sister Shobika is studying in 10th standard. His brother Rahul is in 7th standard. Dhanalakshmi does all types of coolie work. She earns Rs.3000/- i.e $50 aproximately per month and out of this she has to give as rent Rs.1000/- i.e $17 for the single room they live in. She found it difficult to educate her three children. It was then she came to know about our home from one of our special school teacher in Musiri and approached the organisation to admit her sons in the home. After verifying the details given by her and finding that the children are eligible, they were admitted to our home.
Sriram is a good speaker and won many prizes for his speech in the school level competitions. He is also good in essay writing. Besides this he is good in sports too. And he had received many prizes for taking part in sports. Of course he is an average student. But that does not matter, isn't it?
After being admitted to the near by school, Sriram is selected as a team member of foot ball and long jump. Thanks to the school for recognising his talents within a month's time. We are happy to support this talented boy and sure that you, our dear donors, will also be happy to support children like Sriram.
During the last quarter, we received $51 towards this project. And this amount is very meagre to meet out our monthly expenses. We request you dear donors, to support the children generously. As this is the beginning of the academic year, we need your donations desperately to meet out the children's education expenses. Kindly spread words about your favorite project to your friends and relatives who are like minded. Your words carry weight.
