In India, Institutional deliveries took a major hit during the first wave of COVID-19. Freeing spaces within existing health facilities and allocating separate space for delivery-related services was critical. But now, it is more difficult to promote institutional delivery when the country is going through the severe second wave. In this scenario, it is more difficult for the community living in rural areas to get the right services at right time.
Similarly, it was difficult for Madhuri, who was 9 months pregnant last month, to trust any facility in these unprecedented times. Our Merrytarang Member, health worker, informed Madhuri and her husband Rahul about the nearby Merrygold hospital which has a dedicated wing for delivery. After this conversation, Madhuri shared her concern that her family can’t afford to pay for her expected Caesarean Section delivery as they are not earning well since the start of the pandemic. Merrytarang worker shared that she can refer her as a GlobalGiving beneficiary which will aid them in getting affordable services.
With your support, a princess is born to the family of Madhuri early this month. She is healthy and safe from COVID-19. We would like to thank all the donors who are making the institutional delivery accessible to the poor population during the pandemic.
The pandemic is still severely affecting the communities in India and Mothers like Madhuri need your aid to get the affordable institution available for the safe delivery of newborns. Your support will provide them a safer environment for a regular check-up and will facilitate safe institutional delivery. By contributing a little you can become a part of a child’s safe birth story.
Look forward to your active support in achieving the global milestones through your generous donations.
Thank You for your valuable time.
