Dear Friends:
Our project to ensure a safe passage for little kids and their guides when they walk into the rainforest. Our main preoccupations are the the creeks, steep climbs, and walking over swampy areas. This is why we have started designing the new trails including new sections for ascending up the hills. The objective is to make them less inclined and easier for little kids to climb up and descend in a save manner. We have also designed new concrete bridges and a palisade to mount a walk-over the swampy areas. With the help of one volunteer we have been able to mark and partially clear some short sections of one of the 3 trails we expect to construct in the future. We hope more people would support this particular project and start with the actual construction in the near future. In the meantime, we appreciate all the support you have giving us all this time.
Sincerely,
Oscar
Dear Friends / Estimados amigos:
It has been very difficult to raise enough support for this project, so there is very little advance we can show. Fortunately, we have been able to trace new paths in the forest so that we could eventually build new trails. About 500 metres of new paths were traced because they are in more stable terrain or because they are easier to climb. With these new paths we are going to have more than two kilometres of trails in the future, including old paths and the new ones. In addition, we have selected the spot where we are going to build the "bridges" to cross the creeks.
We do hope to have more support for this project in the near future and to be able to actually start clearing the paths and making the trails and bridges safe for young kids and school teachers. We do appreciate your support.
Yours, Oscar
Estimados amigos:
saludos, Oscar
Dear Friends:
Unfortunately we have not been able to find the support we wish and would like to have. This is the reason why we have not been able to report any progress at this point in time. We hope to raise the interest of others during the next couple of months so that we could start upgrading the old paths and marking new ones in the near future. We hope that you could share this Global Giving web page with your partners and collaborators. I am sure there are others like your organization that also understand the importance of having safe trails to immerse young kids into the rainforest.
We are very thankful for your trust and support of our different proyects.
Sincerely, Oscar
Dear Friends:
Considering the limited funded we have been able to secure for this project, at this moment we are not in a position to start the trails. As soon as we have enough funding, we could start adquiring the cement necessary to build the concrete foundations for the bridges. As a preparatory work, we have designed some changes to the old trail and planned for two more. In the meantime, we have been clearing the old trail and marked the area where the bridges would be built. Since the design and construction are very simple we could have each of them built in 2 days time.
Thanks a million for your support.
