The reason we serve ... making dreams possible

By Andrew Sinclair | Development Director

Nirob back at his studies
Nirob back at his studies

HRDP’s primary schools and literacy programmes continue to run well in Bangladesh, with several courses finishing at the end of the year. Recently our staff visited several primary schools and were encouraged to see so many children experiencing the joy of learning. Here are some photos from their visit.

Because of the three-year cycles the schools are on, several schools will be finishing their classes in December. With the proper funding, HRDP hopes to start up 15 new primary schools in 2017 to give more children, who have had to drop out of school to work, opportunities for a better life.

Nirob started his studies again

Nirob is one of our primary school students. He is 11 years old and is now studying in class 3. He has one younger sister. Nirob’s father is a farmer. Because he doesn’t have his own land, he need to work on other people’s land. His parents desire that Nirob will go to school, but his family was not able to educate him. One day Nirob’s mother heard that HRDP opened a new school for dropout students close to them and she went to the teacher and requested for Nirob to be admitted to the school. Soon Nirob started coming to class regularly with the other children, and now he is studying very well in class and getting all the materials he needs for studies from HRDP. He can read, write, sing, and dance with the class! He and his family are so happy he is coming to class every day. He hopes to be a policeman in the future.

We are grateful for partners who make it possible for fulfill these children’s dreams, first of all through education, which impact not only them but also their families.

Thank you again for your support of this project we appreciate your partnership.
