Four months after launching the Rural China Library Project, we continue to offer temporary reading and study spaces in our existing classrooms in Changtu County. Because these rooms are also needed for lessons, access is limited. We cannot yet fund dedicated library staff, so our qualified teachers volunteer additional hours to supervise students and keep the spaces available whenever possible.
Despite these challenges, children who attend have a safe place to read, write, learn and complete homework. We do our best to accommodate as many students as possible. Our goal is to establish a permanent, dedicated library with its own books, learning resources and staff, allowing us to welcome many more rural children. Thank you for following our progress.
