By Chloe Banks | Development Manager
Hello friends, family and supporters of Anna and Sophia,
I just wanted to say a big thank you for support to the girls as they prepare to go to Mongolia and run a half marathon!
As Bethel’s Development Manager, I meet a lot of people who want to do something to support Bethel. They meet the kids, hear their stories, and they have a creative idea about how they can help. However, few people actually follow through. Anna and Sophia have. They have rallied their friends, families (as well as random strangers) and have asked them to listen to what they have to say.
Speaking out for those who don’t have a voice is the most important thing that we can do. The children who live with us at Bethel don’t have a place in society to be able to say: ‘I deserve to have a family’ or ‘I should get the same education as everyone else.' As a result, it is up to those of us who can speak up for them to do so. I’m grateful that Anna and Sophia have stepped up and spoken up on behalf of these children.
Our kids come to Bethel for care and education from over 30 orphanages across China. The transformation that a child goes through when they are placed into a loving, safe and structured home, with opportunities to play and learn is extraordinary. Children who were once closed off to their emotions learn to laugh and play, run, study, pass exams, make friends and form healthy attachments to adults, including their nannies and teachers.
Please continue to spread the word so that others will hear about Bethel China and stand, speak (and even run) on behalf of this amazing group of kids!
Thank you for your support!
