The entire Single Step team is extremely grateful to the 11 amazing humans from Baringa Partners, who traveled from London to participate in the 2018 Sofia Marathon, which took place on October 14, 2018, in order to raise money for Single Step. Collectively they ran a total of 200.4 km!
I only regret, however, that I couldn’t personally be in Sofia and join these 11 champs, because I was in Menlo Park, California where I participated in the inaugural Facebook Community Leadership Program ("FCLP"). This program will contribute up to $50K towards our Community Center, the same cause that the Baringa team ran and raised money for. In addition, to funding, we will receive training, guidance and support to advance further positive social impact for the LGBTI community in Bulgaria.
In Facebook’s own words: “We started FCLP to address the needs identified by community leaders. This global initiative will give over 100 participants from around the world the support, tools, funding and the belief in themselves that they need to best lead their communities. It’s our mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together, and we want to recognize the community leaders around the world who are doing just that. That’s why we started the Facebook Community Leadership Program, an initiative designed to support the leaders who are innovating ways to better support their communities through Facebook and our products.”
Once again, we are deeply thankful to the Baringa team and everyone who contributed to this fundraiser!
