Dear Valued Donors and Strategic Partners,
Every boy carries within himself the innate capability to lead, endure, and protect. However, when young men navigate life without structured guidance, the overwhelming social pressures of their environment can stifle that potential.
At the Boys Mentoring Advocacy Network (BMAN), our flagship Roar of Resilience: Investing In Young Lions initiative is designed to awaken the courage, strategy, and self-reliance inside every participant.
During this past quarter, our regular 8-week cohort sessions were paused to respect the intensive school examination calendar. We believe that true mentorship must support—not compete with—formal education. While our physical sessions were on recess, our team pivoted toward aggressive institutional outreach, approaching more schools to integrate our curriculum directly into their academic schedules for the coming term.
This report details the core framework of the program, the rationale behind our quarterly pause, and our strategic push to bring the "Roar of Resilience" directly into classroom halls.
The Core Curriculum: The Lion vs. The Clan of Hyenas
The "Roar of Resilience" is an intensive mentoring journey designed for boys aged 10 and above. The program uses a powerful, highly relatable narrative metaphor: "The Lion Trapped by a Clan of Hyenas."
Through guided weekly discussions, real-life case studies, and practical exercises, mentors help young boys translate this imagery into actionable life skills:
Resilience: Building the emotional fortitude to bounce back from failure, peer rejection, or personal adversity.
Self-Reliance: Fostering personal accountability, internal motivation, and confidence in making constructive choices.
Strategic Thinking: Training young minds to evaluate risks, resist impulsive reactions, and think several steps ahead before acting.
Community Engagement: Instilling a sense of duty toward family, peers, and school environments—teaching boys that a true leader lifts others up.
The Quarter in Review: Supporting Academic Priorities
During the third quarter of 2026, we temporarily paused our active 8-week cohort sessions.
The Rationale:
This pause coincided with critical promotional, entrance, and term-end examination periods across secondary schools.
Focus and Performance: Forcing extracurricular attendance during high-stakes study weeks creates unnecessary friction for families and dilutes the students' cognitive focus.
Institutional Alignment: By honoring the academic calendar, we demonstrate to parents, teachers, and school administrators that BMAN is a committed partner in the holistic development of their students.
The Strategy Forward: Expanding In-School Deployments
Instead of standing idle, our project leadership utilized the examination pause to execute a targeted expansion plan. We are actively approaching school administrators, principals, and guidance counselors to bring the 8-week "Roar of Resilience" curriculum into the formal school system.
Why the In-School Model Works:
Broader Reach: Transitioning from standalone community hubs to in-school delivery allows us to reach hundreds of boys simultaneously during school hours.
Higher Retention: In-school cohorts dramatically reduce transportation barriers and absenteeism, ensuring that every boy completes all eight weeks of the curriculum.
Teacher Alignment: Class teachers and counselors observe the behavioral shifts in real time, reinforcing our core lessons throughout the school week.
How You Can Help Us Mobilize the Next Cohort
As we finalize agreements with new partner schools for the upcoming academic term, your financial support remains essential to equip these "Young Lions."
We are seeking funding for:
Participant Workbooks & Journals: Printing the "Lion vs. Hyena" strategy guides and daily reflection logs for every student.
Facilitator & Mentor Kits: Supplying trained mentors with instructional materials, visual aids, and session tools.
In-School Graduation Badges: Providing certificates and symbolic pins for boys who successfully complete the 8-week intensive.
Conclusion: Prepared for the Roar
We extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors for understanding that impactful mentorship requires perfect alignment with the rhythms of a child's life. By respecting their study schedules and laying the groundwork for in-school integration, we are positioning this program for unprecedented scale.
With your continued partnership, we look forward to entering multiple new classrooms next quarter and equipping a fresh generation of boys to stand strong, think strategically, and roar with resilience.
