RiseUp: Together We Feel Stronger

By Nour Elmasry | Digital Marketing Specialist

At Alhassan Foundation, we believe that real support is not only physical—it’s also emotional. Providing psychosocial support services for people with disabilities through the “RiseUp” project, helping them improve their mental well-being, build confidence, and feel less alone.

These gatherings aim to:

  • Offer emotional and psychological support
  • Help people connect and feel less alone
  • Encourage sharing real experiences
  • Support independence and a better quality of life

We organize group gatherings that bring together wheelchair users from different backgrounds—some with recent injuries and others who have lived with their condition for many years. We especially focus on those who may feel isolated or unsure how to move forward in life.

In these meetings, everyone gets the chance to talk, share, and listen. People open up about their struggles—moments of sadness, frustration, or fear—and how they were able to overcome them. Hearing real stories from others who went through the same journey gives hope and shows that a better life is possible.

The goal is simple: to help each person feel understood, supported, and not alone.

Recent Activity – Cairo Gathering
Our latest gathering took place in Cairo, bringing together participants from Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia. It was a warm and supportive day full of connection, understanding, and positive energy.

Key Achievements:

  • More than 100 wheelchair users received psychological support
  • 20 team members from Alhassan Foundation took part
  • 10 of the team were wheelchair users themselves, sharing their own real-life experiences
  • Different stories and journeys helped support people of all ages

These gatherings make a real difference. Many participants leave feeling:

  • Less alone and more understood
  • More confident in themselves
  • More hopeful about their future
  • Ready to take steps toward a more independent life

We aim to organize these gatherings several times a year and reach people across all governorates in Egypt. Our goal is to support as many people with disabilities as possible, helping them live a stable, independent, and fulfilling life.

We want to thank every donor or supporter who helps us to achieve this success and we urge you to continue supporting us in our cause, our hope, our dream through subscribing to monthly donation which helps us secure enough funds to help more wheelchairs users and their families.
