Every year, Child Rescue Kenya works with over 5,000 beneficiaries, the vast majority of which are vulnerable children. We work with children of all ages, but the youngest ones always hold a special place in our hearts. Davie was one of the youngest street children that we've worked with, and his story will not quickly be forgotten.
Davie was only five years old when he came through Child Rescue Kenya’s doors. He told the social worker, "I lived with my parents and my grandmother. One night, people I don't know came to our village; they were from another tribe. There was fire and people started screaming. So much fire. We ran and ran until we could no longer hear the screams or smell the smoke. Then I realized, I was alone".
Fortunately for Davie, he found his way to Kitale town and was directed to CRK's center. CRK staff were able to successfully trace his family and they were eventually reunited. Today, Davie is in school and doing well.
On behalf of Davie and his family, thank you for supporting Retrak’s partnership with CRK. With your help, we’ll be able to continue serving highly vulnerable children, enabling them to realize their potential and discover their worth.
