Janet is the Programme Officer at Child Rescue Kenya. Child Rescue Kenya reaches out to children on the streets and helps to return them home thanks to support from Retrak.
Street Smart then provides a place where these children can wash, have food, counselling, non-formal education, games and love. CRK recognise that the process of taking a child from the streets to a family takes time and dedication and say “these are our children; we facilitate their choices and are there for them when and where needed”.
Last year the project reached out to over 400 children on the streets, 30 children passed an end of year exam in non formal education, and street children were seen to refer other street children to Street Smart.
There are many more children in Kenya who need support from CRK and Retrak, so we thank you for your donations, and hope you will be able to help further.
