Progress Report: RESTORING DIGNITY – END PERIOD POVERTYReporting Period

We are pleased to share an update on the progress of the Restoring Dignity – End Period Poverty project. Although we have not yet received funding through GlobalGiving during this reporting period, our commitment to supporting vulnerable children and young women remains unwavering.

Through the generosity of local well-wishers and community supporters, we have continued to provide essential menstrual hygiene and personal care products to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) living in rural communities. These donations have helped ensure that young girls can manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.

Activities Implemented

During this reporting period, our team conducted outreach initiatives in rural areas where access to menstrual hygiene products remains limited. Beneficiaries received:

  • Sanitary pads

  • Soap and personal hygiene products

  • Basic health and hygiene information materials

  • Guidance on menstrual health management

These distributions were aimed at reducing the challenges associated with period poverty, which often contributes to school absenteeism, low self-esteem, and health risks among adolescent girls.

Impact Achieved

Despite limited resources, the project has continued to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable girls and young women. The donated hygiene products have:

  • Improved menstrual hygiene management among beneficiaries.

  • Increased confidence and self-esteem among adolescent girls.

  • Reduced the stigma and embarrassment often associated with menstruation.

  • Encouraged continued participation in education and community activities.

Community members, caregivers, and beneficiaries have expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the urgent and ongoing need for menstrual hygiene assistance in underserved rural communities.

Challenges

The primary challenge remains the lack of adequate funding to expand the project's reach. Demand for sanitary products and hygiene supplies continues to exceed the resources currently available. Many vulnerable girls still face significant barriers in accessing menstrual hygiene products on a regular basis.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we remain committed to expanding our efforts and reaching more girls affected by period poverty. Future plans include:

  • Increasing the number of hygiene kits distributed.

  • Expanding outreach to additional rural communities.

  • Providing menstrual health education sessions.

  • Strengthening partnerships with donors and supporters to ensure sustainable impact.

We are grateful to GlobalGiving and the broader community of supporters who help amplify our mission. Together, we can continue restoring dignity, promoting health, and creating opportunities for vulnerable girls to thrive.

Thank you for standing with us in the fight against period poverty.
