I-PROJECT STATUS AND IMPACT
Centro de Promoción y Solidaridad Humana, Inc. (CEPROSH) has initiated the first phase of restoration of two important facilities: the historic Casa Familia Menard, which houses the administrative offices, and the building where Comprehensive Care Services (CCS) are provided.
Both structures have experienced progressive deterioration due to the passage of time, humidity, exposure to salty sea air, and the climatic conditions characteristic of the coastal area. This intervention seeks to preserve the architectural and cultural heritage represented by Casa Familia Menard, a Victorian-style architectural gem built in the early twentieth century, while also rehabilitating and preserving the service building, constructed in the early twenty-first century. Furthermore, these efforts will help ensure safe, functional, and dignified spaces for more than 2,000 beneficiaries and employees.
On August 19, 2026, CEPROSH received a grant of USD 22,828 through the international organization GlobalGiving, provided by an anonymous donor to address urgent needs. In this case, with the support of the stakeholders involved, the funds are being allocated to restoration and maintenance activities. This contribution represents approximately 89% of the estimated budget required to carry out the identified repairs, leaving USD 2,884 still to be raised to cover the total amount needed.
During this first phase, areas affected by leaks and moisture have been addressed, along with structural steel elements showing signs of corrosion. Matte acrylic painting has also been carried out in selected interior and exterior areas, metal protective grilles and railings have been maintained, and repairs to Examination Room No. 2 have begun.
Likewise, a priority need related to the storage and preservation of physical medical records has been addressed. To this end, 12 white aluminum shelving units, measuring 60 × 26 centimeters and fitted with lockable doors, were installed, along with an ergonomic ladder to ensure safe access to the records. This improvement will help protect files from dust and other environmental factors, facilitate their organization and retrieval, reduce incidental risks associated with handling them, and strengthen the confidentiality of their contents given the sensitive nature of the information they contain.
These achievements represent an important step in CEPROSH's commitment to preserving its heritage and legacy, continuously improving its facilities, and enhancing the quality of the services it provides. These improvements directly affect the experience, satisfaction, and treatment adherence of the people who receive our services. They also contribute to institutional sustainability and the more efficient use of available resources.
