June 16th is one of the most meaningful dates on the Agahozo-Shalom calendar. It commemorates the birth day of ASYV Founder, Anne Heyman, and also honors the International Day of the African Child. I can't help but think that it's not a coincidence that they share a date on the calendar.
This newsletter, like our work, focuses on the children who make up the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village. To some, the odds our kids face may seem insurmountable - but they see opportunity. Our kids are resilient. Our kids areincredible.
In this issue:
- Read how our Village staff dedicated a day to our kids
- Learn how corporate partner Liquidnet is lending a hand to support our kids
- See how a shipping container filled with donated materials brought 500 smiles to our children's faces
- Discover what success means as our incredible kids establish themselves after graduation
- Apply to the 2016 Village Fellows Program and experience a life-changing year in Rwanda.
Thank you for supporting our kids and being part of their journey as they evolve from being some of the most vulnerable and insecure children to good, caring, responsible citizens of the world, with the power to strengthen their own communities.
