Challenge

This campaign seeks to restore the environment by planting 20,000 indigenous and fruit trees around Majanji Landing Site over two years. The project will involve schools, fisherfolk, women's groups, youth volunteers, local leaders, and environmental authorities to create a greener, healthier, and more climate-resilient community. Solution

The campaign will implement practical, community-led restoration activities: Plant 20,000 indigenous, shade, and fruit tree seedlings along the shoreline, schools, public spaces, and surrounding villages. Establish community tree nurseries managed by youth and women's groups. Train local volunteers in tree planting, maintenance, and environmental conservation. Conduct environmental education and awareness campaigns in schools and fishing communities. Organise regular community clean-up exercises

Long-Term Impact

By the end of the project, we expect to: Restore degraded shoreline ecosystems. Reduce soil erosion and improve water quality. Increase tree cover and biodiversity. Improve fish breeding habitats. Strengthen community resilience to climate change. Create greener public spaces and improve local livelihoods through fruit trees. Build a lasting culture of environmental stewardship among community members.
