By Moses Ziro | Project Coordinator
Our team has been monitring the coral belaching pandemic at our garden and sharing information with stakeholders along the coast of Kenya. There has been four monitoring missions in the last two months and thre has been steady growth of the two surving corals with no seriuos decrease in fish populations.
The two thriving surving corals at our garden and observed regeneration in surrounding areas within the reef has motivated the team to start plans of reviving the coral nursery and restoring lost corals at the garden. The plan to replanting corals at the garden is set to begin with reviving the nursery in the next four weeks and restore the corals at the garden before end of December 2024.
We call upon all our well wishers to continue supporting our efforts to restore the Wasini coral reef.
