Over year into the Sudan conflict, its people still face unimaginable hardships. Despite the challenges, we continue to work in three states, delivering life-saving health and nutrition services.
More than 8 million people – almost 20% of the total population of the country – have fled their homes since the conflict started.
To mark a year since the start of the conflict, we are shedding light on how this displacement crisis affects the whole region.
Produced for us by BBC Storyworks Commercial Productions, and presented by the WHO Foundation, we've launched the 'Healthier Together' campaign. The series of films, animations and articles showcases the organizations and people across the world taking responsibility for global health.
We invite you to read stories of how dedicated Relief International staff have partnered with communities across the border in the Upper Nile in South Sudan. Here,140,000 people are displaced from the Sudan conflict. Our staff, since day one of the conflict, have been providing essential healthcare and nutritional services.
Thanks to their dedication, and support from donors like yourself, in Maban, Upper Nile State, 96.6% of deliveries are attended by a skilled healthcare professional, compared to a national average of 39.7%. And in 2023 our staff conducted half a million healthcare consultations.
Today we say thank you, and celebrate their achievements.
