*HOPE FOR KIDS*
*REPORT: MENSTRUAL HEALTH MATTERS*
*1. BACKGROUND*
Menstrual health is not a luxury - it is a basic right. But for many girls in our communities, it is neglected. No pads, no clean water, no information, no privacy. Because of this, they miss school, lose confidence, and suffer infections and shame. We believe menstrual health matters for every girl's education and dignity.
*2. OBJECTIVES*
To ensure menstrual health matters by:
- Providing access to sanitary pads
- Providing accurate information and education
- Improving hygiene, privacy and sanitation
- Keeping girls healthy, confident and in school
*3. ACTIVITIES DONE*
Because menstrual health matters, we have:
- Distributed sanitary pads to 180 girls
- Provided dignity kits - underwear, soap, buckets
- Trained 250 girls and boys on menstrual health and hygiene
- Conducted counseling to remove fear and myths
- Supported schools to improve privacy for girls
*4. ACHIEVEMENTS*
- 180+ girls now manage periods safely and with dignity
- Girls no longer miss 4-5 school days every month
- Better health - fewer infections and discomfort
- Girls confident to stand and answer in class
- Boys and teachers now supportive
*5. CHALLENGES*
- Many girls still lack monthly pads
- No proper washrooms with water and privacy
- Myths and stigma around menstruation still strong
- No funds for regular supply
- Limited reusable pad options
*6. WAY FORWARD*
- Monthly menstrual health support for all 260+ girls
- Construct girls-friendly washrooms with water and soap
- Scale up education to more schools and parents
- Start local reusable pad making for sustainability
- Make menstrual health a community priority
*7. CONCLUSION & APPEAL*
Menstrual health matters because education matters.
Menstrual health matters because dignity matters.
Menstrual health matters because a girl's future matters.
