*GABA HOPE FOR KIDS (GAHOK) - REPORT*

*Theme: EDUCATE A CHILD, EDUCATE A NATION*

*Date: August 27, 2026 | Location: Gaba & Wakiso, Uganda*

*1. Introduction*

"Educate a Child, Educate a Nation" - this is our belief at Gaba Hope for Kids. Founded in 2019, we support 208 unprivileged children (orphans, HIV-affected, poorest slum children) Nursery to P.5 in Gaba, Kampala. An educated child changes family, community, and nation.

*2. Why Educate a Child?*

- Uneducated child = child marriage, child labor, poverty cycle

- Educated child = future doctor, teacher, leader who will build Uganda

- In Gaba slum, 200+ children had no access to education before GAHOK

*3. How We Are Educating The Nation (One Child at a Time)*

*A) Free Quality Education:*

- 208 children in school daily, 98 girls 110 boys

- CBC curriculum: Literacy, Numeracy, English, Science

- Remedial support for weak learners

*B) Supporting Education to Happen:*

- 2 meals daily + clean water - hungry child cannot learn

- Books, pens, uniforms, shoes - 100 children just received more books

- 2 qualified teachers + 4 volunteers + 2 international volunteers

- 50 home visits to keep children in school

*C) Building Character:*

- Health & hygiene education

- Girls mentorship

- Counseling and life skills

*4. Impact - Nation Building Starts*

- 0% dropout Term 2, 2026 - education continuity

- 15 children moved from Division U to Division 2/3

- 98 girls kept in school - future mothers who will educate their children

- 30 children on waiting list - community now values education

- Children now read, write, speak English, dream of serving Uganda

When we educate Sarah in P.3, we educate her future 5 children. That is how a nation is educated.

*5. Threats to Educating The Nation*

1. No permanent classrooms - leaking iron sheets

2. No toilets - 208 children use bush

3. Lack of CBC textbooks

4. Few qualified teachers

5. No library, computers

6. No fence - insecurity

7. 100% donor dependent

If education stops, nation building stops.

*6. Next Steps to Educate More*

- Build 3 toilets $4,500 - keep girls in school

- Build 2 permanent classrooms on 1-acre Wakiso land for 600 pupils

- Buy CBC textbooks for all

- Recruit 3 qualified teachers

- Enroll 50 more children from waiting list

- Start income projects for parents to support education

*7. Conclusion*

One child educated today is a family saved tomorrow and a nation built forever. At Gaba Hope for Kids, every book, every meal, every lesson is building Uganda.

Educate a child today, educate a nation tomorrow.
