RESCUING 5 GIRLS FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We are writing to share an important update and to sincerely thank you for your continued support of our project “Rescuing Girls from Human Trafficking.” Thanks to your contribution, we have been able to continue saving lives and fighting against human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

A New Rescue Operation Successfully Completed

We are proud to share a major achievement by the Mumbai Smiles rescue team. Through this latest intervention, 14 women from Thailand were rescued from a situation of sexual exploitation.

Background of the Case

Our anti-trafficking team received information about the sexual exploitation of women from vulnerable and poor families who had been brought to India with false promises of employment opportunities.

According to the investigation, the women were promised jobs related to beauty and wellness services, but after arriving they were forced into situations of sexual exploitation.

Rescue Operation

After collecting and verifying information, a rescue operation was carried out in coordination with the authorities.

As a result of the intervention:

• 14 women from Thailand, aged between 20 and 43 years old, were successfully rescued.
• Several individuals connected to the exploitation activities were arrested.
• The survivors were transferred to a shelter home for protection and care.
