Street-connected children in Uganda face exploitation, trafficking, and lack of access to education. For years, our old Land Cruiser enabled Dwelling Places to rescue children, reunite them with families, and run back-to-school campaigns. Now broken down beyond repair, it threatens our ability to reach vulnerable children. With your support, we will purchase a new vehicle to continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and reintegrating children from the streets to safety and hope.
The problem is that our long-serving Land Cruiser, which has been central to rescuing and supporting street-connected children, is now broken, rusted, and beyond repair. Without a reliable vehicle, our ability to respond quickly to rescue emergencies, conduct outreach, follow up on reintegration cases, and run educational campaigns is severely limited, putting vulnerable children at greater risk and slowing our mission to protect, rehabilitate, and reintegrate them.
This project will solve the problem by funding the purchase of a new, durable, all-terrain vehicle capable of navigating the rough roads of Kampala and Karamoja. With this reliable transport, our team can quickly reach children in danger, carry out rescue missions, conduct follow-ups on reintegration cases, and run school and community outreach programs. The vehicle will ensure timely responses, uninterrupted services, and that no child is left without the help they urgently need.
The long-term impact of this project will be far-reaching. A new vehicle will enable consistent, timely rescue and rehabilitation of street-connected children, reducing their exposure to trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. It will strengthen our outreach and reintegration programs, helping more children return to safe homes and schools.
