Your support of TOLFA’s Rescue & Care Project is really saving lives EVERY day!
For the months of January, February & March 2022 we have attended over 5,000 emergency rescue calls and have admitted 2,290 sick & injured animals to our hospital, with a further 2,595 being treated on the street by our mobile team. That means TOLFA is giving life-saving aid and veterinary care to over 50 new patients a day.
These are animals like Ella, who was suffering from an enormous tumour. What would have happened if we had not been there to take Ella to hospital and perform the surgery to remove the tumour? Animals like Ella suffer all the time on the street BUT your support means we can help them. Ella’s surgery was a success with no complications and we’re certain she felt better once the 3.5kg mass was no longer hanging from her chest and belly. Not only that but at TOLFA Ella was given a full health-check, sterilised to prevent the stresses of mating, pregnancy and puppies, as well as vaccinated against rabies.
You may have noticed we have a new project on GlobalGiving as we’re raising funds to buy a new Rescue Vehicle! This vehicle is a vital part of our rescue service and will enable us to reach all the animals we are called to help. We have increased street treatments as many minor ailments can be dealt with in situ which is less stressful for the animals and leaves space at our hospital for the most serious cases. With one vehicle now in use by the mobile team every day we need another for transporting animals to the hospital (as well as releasing them after!).
