Monsoon Floods Won't Stop Us Helping Animals

Dear Friend,

Thank you for supporting TOLFA, and welcome to our latest Project Report.

Every year we experience our busiest time during the monsoon - the heavy rains make everyday tasks much more of a challenge, and we typically see a large increase in the number of animal rescues we are called to. Many of the animals are suffering from horrendous maggot wounds - caused when the flies that breed furiously at this time of year, bury their eggs in any small wound they can find.

This year is our most challenging yet as we experienced particularly heavy rains at the start of July that caused several parts of our hospital to flood and our septic tanks to overflow. We needed to evacuate one of our kennels blocks of 40+ dogs and shut down our operating theatre as it was contaminated with dirty floodwater. Our staff worked around the clock to make repairs, clean soiled blankets and care for the animals that were effected.

Unfortunately, this was just the start of the two-month monsoon season, so we are now taking precautions to protect the hospital from further floods by creating rainwater tanks and fitting pipes to channel of the runoff from roofs etc.

Your support is very important to us and we continue to attend rescue calls and do everything we can to help the street animals that also have to deal with the severity of the monsoon.

If you would like to show your support you can purchase one of our exclusive t-shirts HERE - they are only available online until 17th August!

Your donations enable us to keep rescuing animals - despite the monsoon floods!

Thank you
