I'm so pleased to bring you another report from our Rescue & Care Project. This project helps so many animals every day - from kittens to camels - and everything inbetween.
I visited TOLFA in April and saw again the wonderful work that is going on and the great team that are caring for these animals.
We have a baby camel called Suraksha living with our donkeys at the moment. Poor Suraksha is suffering from a severe skin condition and was found wandering on the road outside our gates - obviously abandoned by his uncaring owner. We took him in and are giving him the medical teatment he needs and the care and shelter he deserves. He has now found his life-long sanctuary under the branches of our Tree of Life.
There are also two tiny kittens that had been rejected by their mother. With eyes barely open they were brought to TOLFA where they are now being hand-fed with round the clock care. The TOLFA office often has the odd cardboard box contaning tiny pups or kittens that our staff can keep on eye on while working. We should be able to find homes for these kittens when they are older.
We also have a lot of older puppies looking for local homes - many of them are the survivors of a recent hepatitis epidemic, Fidget is a particulary lively little pup who would make a great companion for someone.
Every day there can be anything between 20 and 40 new patients admitted at TOLFA, they all need individual attention and care and that is where our staff really go above and beyond - like Jacky who patiently helps disabled dogs to feed properly.
Your donations keep us helping so many animals in desparate need - thank you for your wonderful support!
