In parts of DR Congo, life continues to be difficult and dangerous for many people. Children are being recruited by armed groups, into a life of violence and trauma. On a daily basis, people risk being killed by armed militas, having their livelihoods destroyed, or having to flee their homes to an uncertain future.

Our partner, CRC, work tirelessly to help many children who have been child soliders and communities affected by militia violence. Your donations enable them to do this.

Since our last report, hundreds more children like Neema have been rescued from armed groups. In the last four months, many more child soldiers have been rescued, and recieved vital psyhcosocial suport to help them lead normal, happy lives. Many communities have begun taking it upon themselves to help educate and resettle children whose lives have been radically changed by war. They are being trained to become hairdressers, mechanics, carpenters and tailors so they can earn a living and contribute to their communities.

Our partner also run innovative community radio programmes which educate communities about the difficulties people returning from the militia face. They help ensure a peaceful future for many children and young people. This year, 21 community radio clubs have been established, with a total of 638 active members. The radio clubs are able to reach many more people, creating community self help initiatives and initiating local peacebuilding activities.

With your support, more child soldiers can be resuced and resettled into their communities. You can help give them a safe and peaceful future.
