At this stage, the Autism Ekasi Centre renovations are slow, as we have not yet received the funding required to continue the project. Our team continues to prepare for implementation by engaging with the community, planning the renovation process, and advocating for support.
The project remains focused on creating a safe, accessible, and welcoming centre for autistic children and their families in the township. Funding will enable us to transform the existing space into a functional facility that can provide therapy, education, caregiver support, and inclusive community programmes.
Once fully renovated, the centre will provide children with autism access to developmental programmes, caregiver support, life skills training, and community-based services in an environment designed to help them thrive.
The centre will serve children with autism and their families from Nellmapius and surrounding township communities, where access to specialised autism services remains limited. The demand for these services continues to grow, making this project more important than ever.
There is still much work ahead. We are also raising funds to start to furnish classrooms and therapy rooms, install sensory equipment, and improve outdoor play and learning areas.
We sincerely thank every donor for believing in our vision. Your continued support is helping us build a centre that will provide hope, inclusion, and opportunity for children with autism and their families for many years to come.
