Where there is a will, there is a way!

Stakeholders synergy

Not everyone have the will to pursue the cause of street children, because we know for a fact how it is to struggle towards our ideal. But let us press on to this matter, nothing is impossible out of determination. If people and organizations would join together and have the same purpose, then we can achieve wonderful results.

Recently, stakeholders have shown their willingness through efforts to sustain the center. Among them Police Officers, City Councilors, Anti-Drug Committee, and the NGO’s collaborate to show their support for the street children.

This synergy gives impact on better coordination, additional services and donations which directly profits the needs of the children.

Another way to endure sustainable changes is by seeking better performance of persons who are responsible to closely monitor the children at the center such as the house parents (staff) with the help of the biological parents and guardians. Capacity building on adolescent development, positive behavior modification, active listening and crisis management were conducted. We believe that if trust and respect can be restored between adult and children, a great part of the rehabilitation is achieved.

However, seeking transformation through individual development activities is still part of the core program. It is a joy for us to see street children who actively participate in musical activities like rap and classical music. We appreciate their commitment as a key to their artistic performance.

In addition, values formations and psychological support activities provide a ground for children to grow in a healthy environment. The latest discussions regarding these topics were highlighted on addiction, respect and love.

A priority is also given in equipping children in basic education and skills training.  We are favoring teaching through small groups and individual tutorials on a daily basis. There are selected children which are given an opportunity to get professional training on carpentry and artisan skills, while the renovation of the center is on done practicing them.

Moreover, major substantial improvements have already been done by providing tidy individual mattresses for each of the children to sleep on. It may seem basic and simple but this has not been always the case. Among others, we still have to continue on giving importance to sanitation by strictly conducting regular general cleaning, monitoring and implementation of hygiene, and maintenance of the new and renovated comfort rooms.

We beleive each one of us possess the will-power! But only some of us use it, but YOU, GlobalGiving donor, you are part of the “WILL” in order to find the “WAY”, and we deeply thank you for that.
