Thinking out loud

SDC's New talents 2015 !!!
SDC's New talents 2015 !!!

Hello dear GlobalGiving friends,

There are now several years that our organization and our local partners are striving to meet the needs of these children in need especially those sheltered by the SDC (Social Development Center).

We have seen spend hundreds, thousands of children with various difficulties and problems but one thing still shocks us today ... there are more and more of them. Younger and younger people and more and more bruised ...

Bacolod City is developing very fast, malls & shops popping up like mushrooms, investors rush to buy new buildings, companies frantically recruit out here ... but what about these children and their families? Do or can they take advantage of this windfall and progress?

I want to think out loud that nothing has been planned in this direction and as always this class of the community was not included or considered yet. Actually does all this made them part of this civil society? I still like to think they are not.

Our firm main objective remains the same, whatever happens, we do try to provide the basic services toward all children and they should had availed. Must we still recall the basic rights of the children?

I want to believe out loud that we must, yes misery and distress have become commonplace here, it is part of the social landscape and even benefit of a full and normal faith resignation now... What can we do?

I want to think out loud that there is still to do, but should there be a general awareness of the public authorities but also ordinary people ... still trying ... Our actions are maybe just of a drop in the ocean but if nothing is done, what hope left to these children? Can we close our eyes and pretend that nothing happened?

I want to think out loud that it's your soul and conscience to decide. Can we envisage a better future if our motivation is only to deal with things that already go good and easy?

I want to think out loud that the future belongs to us and unfortunately while we are watching these children suffering consequences of defects of our adult's system they are the ones who are much more active and personally courageous than some of us can be. The future of these children is hanging by a thread. What kind of weapons do we have to save them? From love and compassion ... we do not actually need money, somehow it is also the problem, but just your time, energy, your good heart and your strong motivation to believe that the future of our children depends on the future of all children. Just imagine for a moment that these children may be ... you, better your own child. What would you tell them? Sorry I can not help you my son, dad is too loose to resolve adult problems ...

Aside this realistic report, our team and numerous have been conducting a lot of new activities with the kids. The most notable steps are probably that we have move on more activities related to individual self-esteem and development like the sucessful Song RAP Writing Contest, the Theatrical Arts for selected talented kids to be trained with self-awareness & values component through comedies and song performances. A great time … unbelievable … we had our own talent show.

These kids had to think out loud what they really have deep inside during their Concert, letter reading, Visual Arts showcase … proud of you guys.

The other major new approach is we try to develop and sustain for skills trainings, social business activities and enhance their entrepreneurship skills … soon or later they might need it to race in this world and find their own place. Thanks to some international volunteers the center has its own soap and shampoo brand !!! Give it a try ! These products worth their prices ! :)

I am thinking out loud but maybe we found love right where we are …

On behalf of all children and volunteers of this project, we wish you all the best and thank you for your great and continuous support throughout the world.

Regards,

HOST-NGO
