Dear donators and friends,
With your support and investment of our volunteers, life at the SDC continues to improve over the weeks.
To ensure a more comfortable life to the children, new mattresses have been provided and installed in the dorms, so from now every night they can dream of their future on their little beds!
Recently, a water purifier was installed so that the children can safely drink! The system of wastewater treatment has also been completed, and therefore allows the use of this water for the garden of the center or even the bathrooms.
To refresh the infrastructure and brighten up the center, some painting was made in the dormitories and the main room!
In addition to these various infrastructure improvements, children still have the pleasure to see the activities of the SDC to develop and diversify!
The capoeira classes continue on alternate Thursdays and gather twenty highly motivated young people who see their level improving from session to session! On November 15th, a kid of the SDC, Joel, even had the chance to receive the white and yellow belt which symbol of the passage level in capoeira, during a gathering of teachers capoeiristas who came straight from Brazil Malaysia and Singapore.
What a better reward than seeing a child being honored in a discipline which he had never heard before coming to the SDC?
With the upcoming Christmas, the children also have the opportunity to participate in an activity of handicrafts. Twice a week, two volunteers supervise thirty children and teach them how to make candles and Christmas balls. These decorations can then be sold to raise some pocket money for the kids!
Everytime, the children are very excited to participate in these activities that break the monotony of their days at the center and give them the opportunity to acquire new skills and learn about new disciplines!
Some French psychologists will soon visit the SDC to provide support for young people who may need it ... Nurses from Bacolod will also visit them to apply the skin care they need so much, and at the same time give children and their house-parents (adults that daily taking care of them) training to teach them ways to take care of their skin daily to prevent disease.
Could we really give our heart to all the children all over the world?
Thanks to all of you that support our projects, without your mobilization none of this would be possible!
