Relief/Recovery for flood affected in Pakistan

The devastating floods left hundreds of families in Jalalpur Peerwala, Multan, struggling to rebuild their lives after losing their homes, livestock, and sources of income. Women were among the most affected, facing the challenge of supporting their families with limited resources. To help restore livelihoods, AWARD Pakistan organized a Goat Distribution Ceremony, providing 100 flood-affected women with goats as a sustainable source of income.

The ceremony brought together community members and local stakeholders to celebrate a significant milestone in the recovery process. Representatives of AWARD Pakistan encouraged the beneficiaries to use the livestock to strengthen their household income, improve food security, and build a more secure future for their families.

For the women, receiving a goat represented more than immediate assistance; it offered an opportunity to generate income through breeding and the sale of milk and offspring, helping them regain self-reliance and financial stability after the disaster. The distribution also restored hope and confidence, enabling beneficiaries to take meaningful steps toward rebuilding their lives.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by the community, which recognized its long-term value in supporting vulnerable women through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
