Dear Donors,
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support of our project, "Relief for Families Affected by Flooding in Rwanda."
Rwanda is vulnerable to a wide range of natural hazards including floods, landslides, earthquakes, and rainstorms. Following the severe floods caused by heavy rains on May 2, 2023, in the Northern, Western, and Southern provinces, thousands of families were left without shelter, food, and other basic necessities. Tragically, 130 lives were lost and over 5,000 homes were destroyed (figures as of May 4, 2023).
Our project aimed to provide urgent relief to these affected families by supplying basic needs and offering home-to-home counseling therapy to support their mental health and well-being during this crisis. However, despite our efforts, we were able to raise only $105 toward our $200,000 goal and were unable to mobilize the necessary funds to fully implement the planned activities.
Reason for Deactivation:
Due to insufficient funding and the inability to activate the emergency response as planned, we have decided to deactivate this project. We will be focusing our resources on other ongoing programs where we can make a more immediate and sustainable impact.
Stay Connected:
We sincerely thank all donors and supporters for their interest and generosity. To stay connected with our work and learn about other projects, please visit our GlobalGiving profile: organization page, our website: website.
With gratitude,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
