As we mentioned in our last report, we are gradually winding down our direct street intervention work. This is mainly because there are now three other organisations who have started similar projects and we believe children will simply go from project to project to find the one they like best, wasting valuable time when serious reintegration could take place. As other projects grow, we increasingly concentrate on teens and youths who are not easily absorbed into projects that largely focus on children. We are still working in close partnership with one organisation and are involved in keeping a rescue centre going so we have not totally let go of the reins but the time is coming.
Out main project now is working with teens in order to provide them with life skills and vocational training to enable them to earn a sustainable living and we will be reporting separately on this.
Children are still present on our streets and need help. The town is growing and the population moving to the town grows accordingly.
Thank you for all you do to help us.
